By typing "I certify" in the contribution form below, you certify the following: I am not a foreign national. If I am a foreign national, I am also a Lawful Permanent Resident. My contribution is not financed in any part by a foreign national. No foreign national influenced my contribution.
I'm not a wealthy politician with endless pockets. I'm just an ordinary citizen and local business owner. My campaign for City Council Position No. 3 is a grassroots campaign that seeks to increase voter registration and election participation and to ensure that the voices of Lakewood residents are heard and respected by our local government.
According to RCW 42.17A.400(b), "Rapidly increasing political campaign costs have led many candidates to raise larger percentages of money from special interests with a specific financial stake in matters before state government. This has caused the public perception that decisions of elected officials are being improperly influenced by monetary contributions." This is why I am only seeking small contributions from individuals. I do not accept contributions from businesses directly. Local business owners who want to support my campaign can contribute as an individual from their personal accounts only. I do not accept any contributions from business accounts.
During my campaign, I will not accept contributions of more than $800 from any single individual. This means that someone could contribute $100 eight times during the campaign for example, but no more. Any contributions from a single individual that exceed $800 during the course of the campaign will be returned to the contributor.
Furthermore, candidates in Washington State are not allowed to accept contributions from foreign nationals, foreign businesses, or any other foreign interest group. However, foreign nationals who are also Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR), or "Green Card" holders, may contribute. All contributions will require certification that you are not a foreign national or foreign business, or that if you are a foreign national you are in fact a Lawful Permanent Resident.
